Hope for a new better world.
Youngsters, many of them, millennials of all the continents are working on different fronts for a better world. We as more aged humans must help them, and the arts must face this need with great enthusiasm more then ever.
Never as before the fine arts, not only the popular culture, must contribute to a change, and this can be done in many different manners indeed.
Top of all it is urgent a change of consciousness on a large scale. This can be achieved also with the help of sound vibrations, musical intentions, theatrical rituals that we, as artists, must impulse.

In this sense many old habits must be abandoned also in the arts.
The context of this text is not the one where I can develop longly this concept.
But I will suggest some ideas that in my personal way are expressed in the music score and the sounds that I humbly propose to the great cellist Edgardo Espinosa, after His requests.

RITUAL: this is the simple title for my piece, in fact the three movements together are assembled with the porpoise of creating a transition through different states of perception of the world, and of ourselves as humans into it. The music is direct and tonal, something that connect with our archaic roots very quickly, without any intellectual mediation (something that instead is so frequent in elitarian arts). Also the rhythm is characterised by regular pulsations, exactly like in any ritual of any ancient or more recent cultural whole (using the words of Dane Rudhyar).

The three movements are conceived as a sequence of construction-meditation-elevation also synonyms of dance, zen garden and chant of life.
